G.I.A.N.T. Schnauzer Rescue Network , No Toddlers, Please

We do not adopt our animals to families with toddlers. Toddlers are too young to truly understand the consequences of falling on a dog, pulling an ear or tail, taking a bone or toy from a dog's mouth, etc. Even if the dog is raised in your own home from a puppy, you can never predict how the dog is going to react to these situations until they happen. Many times it is the fault of the child and not the fault of the dog, but the dog is the one who ends up in the pound when it growls or nips at a child in self defense. This is really not a breed that is considered a "kid breed."
